Upcycle Skillup: Learn to fix a flat and upcycle a popped bike tube

No one likes getting a flat tire. Many bikers don't know that they can save cash and do the environment a favor by patching the tube inside their tire instead of buying new. Come get free hands-on experience patching a punctured tube provided by MSU Bikes and/or make your very own upcycled tube pencil pouch.

Please register in advance for this free event. Registration is required in order for MSU Bikes to provide you with a patch.

What to expect:

  • Watch a demonstration of how to patch a punctured bike tire tube and get some hands-on experience by patching one yourself.
  • If participants would like to bring in their own bike tire tube in need of patching, they are welcome to do so, but MSU Bikes will also provide torn bike tire tubes so all participants can practice patching.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own patches, but we will have extra patches if needed.
  • An upcycle craft using bike tubes will also be offered. Participants can make a small pouch out of discarded tubes.
