Inclusive Budgeting in International Development and Research

Wed, February 7, 2024 10:00 AM - Wed, February 7, 2024 11:30 AM at Virtual

Please join us for the 3rd iteration in our Community of Practice conversation about Equitable Partnerships. The topic of this session is "Inclusive Budgeting in International Development & Research” under the framework of the MSU Policy on Best Practices for Equitable Partnerships in International Collaboration.

Speakers include professional staff and experts in the field from both within and outside Michigan State University, who will discuss their experience in creating equitable budgets in global research and development projects.

At this event, we aim to:

  1. Formulate how to hold ourselves accountable and measure transparency in the ways budgets are developed for projects.
  2. Develop a toolbox with which to measure our activities (i.e., a checklist that could be used by PIs, FOs, and their partners to be deliberate about inclusion as they develop the budget).

Panelists will include:

  • Lori Bramble, Research Administration Manager, AgBioResearch
  • Shirley Malcom, Senior Advisor and Director of SEA Change at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
  • Jeannie Patrick, Director of the Office of Research Administration (MSU)

This online event is co-hosted by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the College of Social Science and Global IDEAS.
