Coffee with the Profs - MSU Sustainability in Action| October 5
Learn more about MSU Sustainability, where every student, employee, faculty member, and alumnus can contribute to sustaining future generations of Spartans.

Exercise is Medicine on Campus Virtual Step Challenge | October 5 – October 9
Support your sustainable health while competing on behalf of MSU in this weeklong step challenge! The MSU participant with the highest week average will win a basketball signed by Coach Izzo (must be picked up at Olin Health Center).

Spartan Pick Up Day | October 6
Spartan Sierra Club and Sustainable Spartans are hosting Spartans Pick Up Day for sustainability month! We hope to get everyone involved in collecting trash and helping to clean up around their communities.

Energy Efficiency Day – Reduce Your Impact | October 7
A growing network of advocates, companies, government agencies, utilities and others will showcase the benefits of energy efficiency during the 5th annual nationwide Energy Efficiency Day. Check out these tips to reduce your impact and Go Green!

National Eating Disorder Association Walk| October 10

MSU Virtual Day of Service | October 10
Students can participate in virtual service projects that will benefit Lansing-area community partners and the causes they support. Whether it be creating resources and reading books for schoolchildren or helping raise funds to prevent food insercurity, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved this fall.

Michigan Good Food Virtual Summit | October 8 – November 18
Set the stage for the next 10 years of good food systems in Michigan. This series of virtual gatherings will celebrate achievements and launch a renewed effort to advance good food systems that promote equity, health, sustainability, and thriving economies.

Michigan Campus Earth Day 50.5 | October 22
The Earth Day 50.5 milestone provides an opportunity to develop a collaborative space for colleges to advance sustainability across Michigan. Join us for engaging discussions focused on sustainability, environmental justice and voting promotion.

MSU Surplus Store and Recycling Center Town Hall: Brokering Our Commodities | October 22, 7 pm
In this special MSU Surplus & Recycling Town Hall, guest Jill Brown, of Metro Recycling, will discuss brokering our commodities. SSRC works with Metro to sell the plastic and fiber materials we collect. Jill will discuss Metro's role in managing recycled materials, the importance of recycling in Michigan, and the impacts of COVID-19 on recycling markets. An open Q & A session will follow our talk.
