Michigan State University is now in the top 25 in the world according to the Times Higher Education 2024 Impact Rankings, the leading global performance index for how well universities are meeting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs. MSU is ranked No. 3 in the country and No. 25 in the world.
MSU is the only university in Michigan and the Big Ten to appear in the top 25 globally.
In just its fourth year of participation, MSU has gone from being ranked over 100 to breaking into the top 25. Times Higher Education evaluates universities across four broad areas: research, outreach, stewardship and teaching. 2024 is the sixth and most competitive year of the ranking with more than 1,900 universities taking part.
