Botanical Threads: An Ethnobotanical Gallery Tour

Deep Rooted Tour Image

What can art tell us about the relationship between plants and humans? Join Maeve Bassett, our applied ethnobotanist and education director, for an immersive tour exploring the botanical narratives within the fabrics and textiles of We Are This Land: Meditations on the Great American Experiment. Registration is recommended.

This tour is part of our ongoing Deep-Rooted collaboration with the Broad Art Museum, where art and plants intertwine in a conversation about the extraordinary ways our natural world has influenced art and human societies throughout history.

This event is offered in connection with We Are This Land: Meditations on the Great American Experiment. On view at Broad Aug. 22, 2026–Mar. 14, 2027, We Are This Land brings together artists who invite us to reflect on our history, consider our present, and imagine brighter futures.

For more information or to register, please visit the Beal Botanical Gardens event page.
