Soil Savvy: Building Better Gardens from the Ground Up

Join MSU Extension and Capital Area Master Gardeners for a hands-on workshop on August 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM in Lansing, Michigan. This workshop is designed to give practical, science-based insights into improving soil structure, boosting fertility, and sustaining vibrant plant life. Participants may bring soil from their own lawns or gardens to evaluate during the workshop.

The workshop features two expert speakers from Michigan State University (MSU) Extension:

  • Christina Curell, Cover Crops and Soil Health Educator
  • Brent Crain, Ph.D., Consumer Horticulture Educator

Event Details:

  • What: Soil Savvy: Building Better Gardens from the Ground Up
  • When: Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Where: Fenner Nature Center, 2020 E. Mt. Hope Ave, Lansing, MI 48910
  • Cost: $35.00
  • Extension Master Gardener (EMG) Credits: EMGs can earn 3 education hours.

All gardening enthusiasts are welcome to attend. Registration is required in advance.
