An Economist's Guide to Environmentalism

Jordan K. Lofthouse is a Senior Fellow with the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, as well as a Program Director of Research and Programs at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He received a PhD in economics from George Mason University. His research engages the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy. Some of his research topics include environmental economics, Native American economic development, entrepreneurship, and disaster recovery.

Lofthouse will discuss how the economic way of thinking can explain the rise of environmental problems and offer a framework to evaluate the vast array of potential solutions.
